Every time I have a 90+ year old dementia, bed-bound pt on NPO for PEG placement the next day (which never happens for some various schedule change in the OR), I can’t help but hum Oasis “Live Forever”. Because apparently “you and I are gonna live forever…..”
Your unit is understaffed. There aren’t enough nurses available to provide safe, quality care. So in your role as patient advocate, you do what? Complain in the break room during the five minutes you get to cram food down your throat?
